PRESS RELEASE FOR FAVOUR OF PUBLICATION
A 31 Member Rowing team participated at the 14th Senior and 17th Junior, Asian Rowing Championship, held from 12th – 17th October 2011, at HWACHEON, South Korea.
At the finals, which were rowed on 16th and 17th October 2011, Indian Rowers made the country proud be maintaining their supremacy in Asia, by bagging the following medals:
1. Men Single Scull - Bronze (Swarn Singh)
2. Lt Wt Men’s Double Sculls - GOLD (Shokender Tomar & Sonu Laxminarian)
3. Lt Wt Men’s Coxless Fours - Silver (Manjeet, Sandeep, Satish, Raliya)
4. Men’s Coxed Eight – Silver ( Manjeet, Sandeep, Ranjeet, Anil, Kapil, Devender, Satish, Raliya, Cox- Md Ali)
5. Junior Men Coxless Pairs – Bronze (Jasveer Singh & Jaydeep Singhate)
6. Junior Men’s Coxless Fours – Silver ( Palender, Tejes Shinde, Shiv Singh Manish Yadav),
7. Junior Women Single Scull – Silver ( Amusuna Devi)
8. Junior Women’s Coxless Pairs – Silver ( Honey Joseph & Nitya Joseph)
